I was so pleased
to discover Ponds Online. Even after 8 years of creating and maintaining
my own garden pond, I still find it very difficult to find a consistent
distributor for "pond stuff" in the Ottawa area. There also seems to be
a real shortage of long term experience and knowledge about some of the
water gardening challenges we encounter. Believe me ... I've almost heard

media is available in 1" thick dense mechanical filter material and 1-1/4"
or 2" thick coarse biological filter material.

filtration media. It's relative medium density allows for optimum particulate
removal while maintaining an adequate water flow. This translates into

Bulk
Filter Media, 1-1/4" and 2" Coarse (Biological)
Poly-Flo's most popular biological
filtration media. It is available in 1¼" (our all time best selling
bulk media) and 2" thicknesses. The 2" material is used exclusively in
virtually all US manufactured pond skimmers and waterfall units. The open
character of this filter media allows for high volumes of water to pass
through without clogging while providing optimal surface area to facilitate
bacterial colonization. |
