Product Information |
The ECO PF-1800
pressurized filter combined with the ECO F-2400 solids-handling pump provides
outstanding filtration with easy maintenance. Both pump and filter are
easily installed and deliver professional performance with results. The
filter comes complete with an 11 Watt UVC. Also included are multi-step
inlet and outlet fittings, an integrated cleaning mechanism for filter
sponges, and a UV lamp indicator. The built-in UVC aids in the control
of algae growth without having to resort to chemical treatments. Filter
maintenance is quick and easy with the built-in cleaning mechanism. The
F-2400 solids-handling pump is specifically designed for pumping water
to a pond filter and comes with a multi-step outlet fitting and a ball
joint fitting that allows the outlet to be pointed in any direction.
Filtration
Dirty water
is pumped to the filter. Algae and dirt are clumped together by the integrated
UVC clarifier. The treated water then flows through the filter unit's filter
elements which support the filtration process and clarify the water. The
water then flows back into the pond or waterfall.
Cleaning
Cleaning the
PF-1800 filter couldn't be easier. No need to remove the filter lid and
deal with the mess. By simply raising the cleaning lever, the filter elements
are squeezed, expelling the solid waste. Turning the function knob to "Clean"
allows the solids to be flushed from the filter into your garden by the
normal flow of the pump. Then simply turn the function knob back to normal
to resume normal filtering action.

Filter and UVC are running continuously, 24 hours a day. UVC lamp must
be replaced after 8,000 hours of use to ensure that the UVC continues to
operate with optimum effectiveness.
Pond size
recommendations are approximate and are only given for general guidance.
All performance data were obtained under controlled conditions. Real-world
performance may vary due to local circumstances.
Both pump and
filter come with multi-step hose adapters. Additional adapters are not
required but we suggest to use a set of hose clamps to secure the tubing
to the pump outlet, as well as the filter inlet and outlet connections.
*** Please
check the pump performance charts and max. lift
figures to make sure that the system you are purchasing fits your application.
The F-2400 Pump that is included with the PF Pond Filtration Package has
been selected to supply the PF-1800 Pond Filter with the perfect amount
of water when installed with a 3 ft. head before the filter (= filter inlet
1.5 ft. above pond water level and 15 ft. of tubing before the filter).
For safety reasons, the PF-1800 Filter should be placed
at least 6.5
feet from the edge of the pond. If the filter is installed high on
top of a waterfall (max. 6.5 ft. high) or you have a long tubing run, for
example, please upgrade to a larger pump as required.
The F-2400
Pump supplied with the PF Pond Filtration Package delivers 2,400 GPH max.
at a zero foot head. If the PF-1800 Pond Filter is installed at ground
level adjacent to the pond (for safety reasons, the filter should be placed
at
least 6.5 feet from the edge of the pond), the flow rate supplied by
the pump will be close to the maximum of 2,400 GPH. Since the filter is
only rated for a maximum flow rate of 2,100 GPH, a small amount of head
(3 ft.) is required before the filter. This can be achieved by any
combination of vertical lift and tubing length. For example, the filter
inlet 1 ft. above pond water level and 20 ft. of tubing, the filter inlet
1.5 ft. above pond water level and 15 ft. of tubing, or the filter inlet
2 ft. above pond water level and 10 ft. of tubing. With any of these combinations
the ratings for maximum actual pond volume shown in the chart above apply.
If you install
the PF-1800 Pond Filter at the top of a waterfall or have a long tubing
run, the pump's flow rate decreases accordingly. At a 6 foot head, for
example (= 4 ft. vertical lift from pond surface level to filter inlet
+ 20 ft. of tubing), the flow rate of the F-2400 Pump drops down to about
1,600 GPH (please see F-2400 pump performance chart
for details). This in turn affects the performance of the entire system,
and the PF Pond Filtration Package is thus no longer suitable for an 800
gallon fish pond as shown in the chart. Upgrading to a larger pump, like
the ECO F-2900 is recommended in this case.
