EasyTreat™ Ammonia Remover

General Product Information

EasyTreat™ Ammonia Remover will remove ammonia, nitrite and nitrate from pond water quickly and efficiently. Any new introduction of fish to a pond or aquarium environment means extra organic load on the system. This is in addition to the normal organic load of a pond environment (ie - uneaten fish food, fish waste and pond debris). Over time this debris accumulates and degrades causing ammonia to be released into the system.

It is always best to apply EasyTreat™ Ammonia Remover when adding one or more new fish to the pond environment to compensate for the additional load the system will have to handle. The removal of ammonia and nitrite from the system will create a safer and healthier environment for fish and should keep stress levels and stress symptoms under control.

Ammonia
What Is It: Ammonia is a bi-product of fish waste and is extremely harmful. Ammonia toxicity is particularly a problem in the Spring time when fish become more active and feeding increases. High ammonia levels can cause a wide variety of problems with blood flow, liver and kidney problems and oxygen intake. Warning Signs: Gill irritation, equilibrium problems (turning sideways) and mucous reduction. Causes: Poor water quality, improper filtration, overcrowding, overfeeding, plant overcrowding and large amounts of organic debris at the bottom of the pond.

Application Rates

For each 1,000 gallons of water apply 4 oz. of EasyTreat™ Ammonia Remover to the system. For routine maintenance apply 4 oz. per 1,000 gallons of water once a week. When adding one or more fish to a new pond double the application rate to 8 oz. per 1,000 gallons of water for the initial treatment and then apply 4 oz. per 1,000 gallons of water each week thereafter.

In any application of treatment products to a pond environment it is always best to aerate heavily when applying products of this nature. However, “most” ponds have sufficient aeration (waterfalls, streams, spitters) to help the products work to their full potential.

EasyTreat™ Bacterial Solutions

General Product Information

EasyTreat™ Bacterial is excellent for controlling gill diseases in pond and aquarium fish. Bacterial diseases generally result from fish stress due to adverse water quality conditions (pH, oxygen or temperature problems), habitat clean-outs, untreated abrasions or predators. EasyTreat™ Bacterial works extremely well on pond fish species such as koi and goldfish as well as on commonly found aquarium fish species.

Finrot
What Is It: Is a condition that effects fish fins (mainly dorsal fins) and is caused by the bacteria Pseudomonas and Aeromonas. Warning Signs: Noticeable decay of the dorsal fin, disinterest in feeding and noticeably weakened condition. Cause: Colder temperatures, poor water quality and untreated abrasions.

Ulcers
What Is It: A condition resulting most often from an abrasion or injury. Aeromonas bacteria invade the injury on the body and will often move internally if the injury is not treated promptly. Ulcers often lead to koi septicaemia. Warning Signs: Abrasions, ulcerous reddish, purple lesions on the sides of the fish. Causes: Colder temperatures, poor water quality and untreated abrasions.

Application Rates

Dissolve 1 teaspoon of EasyTreat™ Bacterial in dechlorinated water for every 100 Gallons of water to be treated and add to the pond or aquarium for a 24 hour period. It is advisable to remove filter media prior to treatment for the 24 hour duration of treatment with EasyTreat™ Bacterial.

Bath Application
Should you want to avoid removing filter media a dip application can be performed in a separate holding tank or “hospital tank”. Do not reuse container for any other use.

Remove fish from ecosystem and place fish in hospital tank for 24 hours. Mixture in tank should be 1 teaspoon of EasyTreat™ Bacterial mixed with at least 50 gallons of pond water. Aerate hospital tank vigorously during the 24 hour period.

Attention
Failure to use as directed or changes in water conditions not consistent with label may result in loss or injury to aquatic life. Winston Company, Inc. is not responsible for any loss of aquatic life.

Chilodonella
What Is It: A protozoan parasite that looks similar to a black-eyed pea and can be found on the fins, body and gills, typically in the early Spring. Warning Signs: Grayish film covering body, scratching, disinterest in feeding, jumping, and may become lethargic. Cause: Poor water quality, overcrowding and stress.

PONTEC Marathon Pumps

I received the Pontec Marathon 650 and hose kit yesterday and have installed it already - quite as expected (it's quite a 'gusher', I like the wrap-around cage to screen out large debris, and also the thermal overload protection) and I appreciate the fast service and low price.  Around here, much smaller capacity pumps alone cost much more - and with you I got the hose too!
Mike, Ridgetown, ON

I couldn't be more pleased. The pump (Pontec Marathon 800) is exactly what I needed. It arrived in only 2 days which is excellent delivery by any standards. I am delighted with your service and I will recommend you folks to everyone in search of pond products. Take a bow!
