It's working
great! It's been in the pond for several weeks, and we've had temperatures
in the single digits and teens for quite a while, complete with below zero
temps at night, and it is keeping a good 24-30" clear. It's on one
end of the pond, in approximately 3 to 4 feet of water (NOTE: Zero Fahrenheit
= -18 Celsius).
I've looked
at some of the other options such as the high-wattage heaters, and while
they're rather inexpensive to purchase, the operating costs are astronomical
- that's why we started looking into pumps instead. So we'll let
it go & see how it goes for the remainder of the winter...I think it'll
do ok. Thanks!
